Today women produce more than half the world's food and in some countries that figure exceeds 80%. A recent (2010) United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report states that "40 million people have been pushed into hunger this year mostly due to soaring food prices....and we can reduce this number if we empower women farmers..."

Closer to home, we are seeing that pressure on farm families has resulted in an ever decreasing number of youth participating in agriculture.

Organic Farm Share has committed 1% of its annual revenues to the Ripple Effect Grant Program which supports projects that progress the regenerative agricultural activities of women the world over as well as our local youth.

Our first applications will be sought from early 2012 for review with approved grants beginning late in 2012.
